For some time now I was desperate to start learning Sanskrit(I have a big reason to do this!). I didn't know where to start. Few month's ago I came across this excellent book in a book store in Bangalore. The book is titled "First Book of Sanskrit" by Sri.R.G. Bhandarkar.Titled "मार्गोपदेशिका " in Sanskrit it was first published in the year 1856! If you are serious about learning Sanskrit then this is the book for you!. The book is also available online.
